The Las Vegas Fly Fishing Club and the Southern Nevada Chapter of Trout Unlimited are both organizations that work towards improving Nevada’s fisheries, teaching newcomers about the sport of fly fishing and sharing their love of fly fishing with others.

Both clubs meet together on the 3rd Thursday each month starting at 6:30pm with December’s meeting being the exception.  Meetings are held at Bass Pro Shop in the Silverton Hotel and Casino on the 2nd floor Conservation room next to the gun department.

TU Philosophy…

We hold that trout and salmon fishing is about far more than simply catching trout and salmon. It is fishing for sport rather than for food, where the real reward lies in the challenge, the tradition, and the battle of wits, not in a full creel. It is the satisfaction of limiting your kill rather than killing your limit. It is time spent in nature, where the greatest prize is a refreshed body and a contented soul, and where a license is a permit to use, not abuse, to enjoy, not destroy, our cold water fishery. It is embracing the idea that what benefits trout and salmon benefits the angler, and that managing these fish for their own sake rather than for the fisherman is essential to solving our trout and salmon challenges. It is valuing our fishery resource, respecting fellow anglers, and giving serious thought to tomorrow.

Federation of Fly Fishers Philosophy:

A. To cultivate and advance the art, science, and sport of fly fishing as the most sporting and enjoyable method of angling, and the approach most consistent with preserving and using game fish resources.

B. To serve as the voice for organized fly fishing.

C. Promote conservation of recreational                    resources.

D. To facilitate and improve knowledge of fly fishing.

E. To elevate the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy among anglers.

F. To cherish the spirit of fellowship among anglers everywhere.

G. To establish and maintain liaison with other angler and conservationist organizations, as well as government agencies concerned with the sport of angling.

H. To keep members informed of developments of interest to the membership
